TMk is designed to perform the following operations:

cargo handling;
transportation of rolling stock (flat cars, freight wagons, special purpose cars) to work sites;
shunting at industrial yards and in city undergrounds;
transportation of tools and equipment to work site;
delivery of work teams to site;
shunting.

The vehicle is fully self-propelled. The control cabin is mounted on the front end of the vehicle frame. There are two entrance doors located at each lateral side of the cabin and one door to enter the vehicle deck is situated in the rear wall of the cabin. The articulated crane is installed on the rear part of the vehicle and enables it to perform handling of tools, equipment and track elements. The power pack is placed under the deck in the middle part of the vehicle frame.
