The vehicle is designed to perform:

  • catenary (over-head line) installation and scheduled or emergency maintenance/repair operations (at de-energized lines);
  • cargo handling operations with the use of its own articulated crane;
  • transportation of rolling stock (flat cars, wagons, etc.) to work sites;
  • transportation of loads on its own deck (e.g. rails, slippers, tools and mechanisms);
  • transportation of personnel to work sites;
  • power supply to electrical tools and other consumers;
  • shunting operations.

ADM-1cm catenary maintenance vehicle is fully self-propelled. The control cabin is mounted on the front part of the vehicle frame, the articulated crane - on ther rear part. The crane serves to perform catenary masts deinstallation and installation operations and to handle cargoes. The liftting platform is situated in the middle section of the vehicle. The power pack is hidden under it. Torque is transmitted from diesel engine to hydraulic gearbox input shaft and having passed through torque converter and gears is transmitted to 3-phase alternator, slow speed drive motor and to cardan shafts connected with axle gearboxes of wheel sets. The air compressor is driven through belt drive.
